Or that gas station where you can knock all the boxes over in a domino effect It's one of the most METAL things I've ever seen in a video game. Inside the police station, I shot a super mutant in VATS and after the ejecting bullets and gib animations completed, the mutant fell onto a tripwire, causing a trap to go off and hit it in slow motion, too. The various 3rd person perspectives and slow motion effects makes VATS completely awesome in 3D, even if you're just using a standard television. I know everyone is high on virtual reality and oculus goggles now, but as a 3D aficionado, my favorite 3D scenes don't replicate reality or standard human vision at all. I've been playing some in 3D: while obviously it's not a fantastic looking game and the high contrast nature of the colors tends to add some doubled-vision with active glasses, VATS kills are absolutely insane in 3D. I also wasted a point in perception that I didn't need to have and would have preferred to have elsewhere I wasted some skill points, I won't have 100% perfect stats at 30, my barter will probably be around 70, with everything else at 99. Paralyzing Palm is the only thing that makes some of the tier-1 enemies reasonable however, with their near infinite hitpoints, so this character feels a lot better in every way. I actually forgot that my first fallout 3 character was melee, but that was with super sledge.

I had a hard time finding a setting that would allow me to aim guns manually with the gamepad that would also let me effectively melee (a good setting for shooting means it's hard to turn fast enough when circle strafing at melee range). I've been having a pretty good time: it's weird how much of fallout 3 and New Vegas jumbled together in my mind over the years, there were some things I thought happened in one game that actually happened in the other. I started Fallout 3 against my better judgment.
